3D tech maker Caracol acquires Hans Weber additive manufacturing assets
Caracol, which makes both software and hardware for large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM), has acquired the intellectual property and robotic machine configuration assets from the additive division of Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik GmbH, Kronach, Germany, which makes extrusion technologies.
Caracol, based in Milan, Italy, and founded in 2017, said it sees the move as a step toward increasing its presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
With the acquisition, Caracol said it plans to integrate Weber’s additive technology into its product portfolio, and it hopes to accelerate the global adoption and industrialization of LFAM technologies across a range of manufacturing sectors.
Caracol has a global field and service network across 55 countries.
