Materialise to acquire Link3D

Belgium-based software solutions and 3D printing services provider Materialise NV announced it will exercise its option to acquire Link3D Inc.

The transaction, which is expected to close by the end of the year, will see the Belgian firm gain 100 percent of equity interests in the Boulder, Colo.-based provider of additive workflow and manufacturing execution systems for $33.5 million.

Materialise sees the acquisition as a way to strengthen and accelerate its plans to offer an ambitious cloud-based platform.
