Printer brings increased print speed, quality
Edge Fusion3’s Edge fused-filament-fabrication 3D printer offers an enclosed cabinet protects users from hot surfaces, which can reach temperatures of up to 158 degrees Fahrenheit when printing high-temperature materials such as ABS and PC, and the cabinet door has an interlock feature that pauses printing when it is opened. Fusion3 tests and certifies a wide range of materials, including polylactic acid, ABS, PET and PET-glycol. With the addition of an optional magnetic tool plate and magnetic print surface, users can print with materials such as PP and 316L stainless steel.
What’s new? The Edge, which launched in February. It features a series of upgrades from earlier models, including its revamped F-Series motion control system, a patent-pending print head system and new control system.
Benefits Professional-grade performance at a price of $6,999. The Edge has faster standard print speeds and improved print quality compared to predecessors. It features an ultra-light-touch probe that works with its leveling system to ensure the quality of each print’s first layer. A surgical steel print tube stands up to abrasive filaments, making maintenance easier and lowering operating costs. The Edge’s separate interface controller provides remote management capabilities and sends recurring maintenance reminders. A Secure Version of the printer offers only wired Ethernet connection and a locked USB port.
