New Stratasys FDM 3-D systems print faster

Jan. 20, 2015

Fortus 450mc and Fortus 380mc These 3-D production systems are the newest models in Stratasys' Fortus 3-D printers, which use fused deposition modeling technology to build molds and parts.

What's New? The size envelope and number of materials (vs. Fortus predecessors 360mc and 400mc). The Fortus 450mc builds functional prototypes or parts as large as 16 by 14 by 16 inches working in nine plastics, including Ultem 9085 for high-performance applications. The Fortus 380mc can build parts of 14 by 12 by 12 inches working in seven standard and engineering thermoplastics. The printers also feature an even temperature in the build chamber and an all-new digital touch screen.

Benefits Build times are 15-20 percent faster for complex geometries than Fortus 400mc and 360mc FDM systems. The touch screen lets users adjust jobs without disrupting the printer.
