BMG HMI standardizes thermoformer controls

The NextGen controls reduce training demands by presenting a single interface for multiple machine types.
July 29, 2022

NextGen controls BMG’s latest human-machine interface (HMI) comes with a 24-inch high-definition wide-screen industrial PC. It is an intuitive platform that is fully compatible with BMG’s Advanced Digital Readiness web- and app-based portal. It allows for remote monitoring of thermoforming and product handling applications, and it can also be used to access process data.

What’s new? The NextGen controls, which are now standard for all Brown thermoformers.

Benefits A standardized look and feel for controls. The NextGen controls work with most existing servo-based BMG machines, and the company’s service technicians can upgrade all existing Brown forming machinery with the NextGen controls as a retrofit. According to the company, the NextGen controls will reduce training demands on new employees. They have a point-and-click interface that lets operators call up a window to set recipes and process parameters, or adjust detail levels with pinch-and-zoom motions. Frequently used functions and training videos are easily accessed.
