P-Series MuCell offers precise dosing

P-Series Trexel's MuCell technology for injection molding involves the controlled use of gas in its supercritical state to create microcellular foam parts. MuCell is targeted at precision and engineered components with wall thicknesses thinner than 3mm.

What's new? The P-Series, which was launched at NPE2018. P-Series machines precisely dose nitrogen as a supercritical fluid at ultra-fast cycle times not possible with Trexel's T-Series.

Benefits The ability to lightweight thin-wall parts to a degree never before possible, resulting in lower-cost, more sustainable packaging. Parts molded using the technology weigh 6 percent less and their manufacture requires 12 percent lower injection pressures and 30 percent less clamping force. The technology allows molders to use smaller presses, which can significantly reduce mold wear.
