MarkStarPro The upgraded version of this hand-held 3-D fiber-laser marking system from Fonon Corp. is designed to make permanent marks, such as sequential serial numbers and bar codes, on a variety of materials, including both coated and uncoated plastics. It is maintenance-free, compatible with Windows 7, requires no consumables and has a mean time between failures (MTBF) rating of more than 50,000 hours. Marketed under the Laser Photonics brand, the MarkStarPro comes with an industrial-grade laptop computer with pre-installed software, has a 20-watt fiber laser, and offers a wide range of pulse durations, high-repetition rates and peak powers. A 2-inch by 2-inch processing chamber and 2-inch by 2-inch marking area are standard; both can be upgraded to 4 inches by 4 inches.

What's new? Safety upgrades. The newest version of MarkStarPro has a dual-action interlock system that involves both mechanical and software safeguards.

Benefits Safety and portability. In addition to enhanced safety, the MarkStarPro requires no water cooling. Its handheld marking unit weighs only 10 pounds and the entire 35-pound system can be mounted on an optional cart. It can operate using either AC or DC power sources.
