Developed for plastics processors, the software includes preconfigured aspects tailored to specific industries.

Winfactory 4.0 Piovan SpA, Santa Maria di Sala, Italy, has relied on Industry 4.0 principles in designing its newest process control and management software. Developed for plastics processors, the software includes preconfigured aspects tailored to specific industries, such as the automotive, film and medical sectors. Standard functions include data collection and remote machine access. In addition to the industry-specific supervisory software, a separate module dealing with energy management is available as both an optional feature and as a stand-alone product. Because it uses the OPC-UA protocol, Winfactory 4.0 can be installed on machines, systems and automation devices made by manufacturers other than Piovan, and can work at the level of a single factory or across multiple plants. Universal Dynamics, also known as Una-Dyn, is Piovan's U.S. arm.

What's new? The software package. It has a new customizable graphic interface, bar-code reader, touch-screen support and email notification function in case of alarms.

Benefits Careful and efficient management of the entire production process.
