Diagnostic reliability service Rockwell Automation's new asset-management service leverages maintenance data to help streamline plant operations. The service, which automatically collects data from devices on the production control network, monitors and analyzes the performance of plant assets and sends reminder alerts to initiate service work and prioritize corrective actions. As part of the service, a Rockwell Automation expert with experience in the plastics industry also closely tracks equipment performance to advise on improvements to the production facility.

What's new? The service, which began a few months ago.

Benefits Data-driven maintenance decisions, and less unscheduled downtime. Using the information collated by the service, users can make proactive decisions to enhance productivity and improve their processes. Rockwell Automation says the service can reduce the amount of time users spend collecting equipment data by about 70 percent and boost operational efficiency by 15 percent. The service can also reduce by up to 8 percent the average time it takes to return a machine to service after an equipment failure.
