Panther UltraGranulator Pallmann Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, Zweibrücken, Germany, has added a PET-specific machine to its line of robust Panther recycling granulators. Designed for continuous operation under tough conditions, it can be integrated into existing recycling lines or operate as a stand-alone unit. This machine has a possible throughput rate of up to 7,700 pounds per hour. Pallmann is represented in the U.S. by Pallmann Industries.

What's new? A design specifically for PET bottles. The granulator features the ability to separate the PET flake from shredded PE bottle caps. Other Panther machines can process PET, but also handle materials such as electronics waste, cable and carpet.

Benefits The heavy-duty, compact machine provides easy access to the cutting chamber for simplified cleaning and maintenance. Energy consumption is minimized through the use of angled rotor knives that work against opposing slanted counter knives to cut the bottles into flakes. The mesh size of the screen can be selected to determine the size of the flakes and the throughput of the granulator.
