Micromat The stationary single-shaft shredders in this Lindner line can produce flakes from waste plastic that are appropriate for cleaning, sorting and subsequent extrusion.

What’s new? Micromat IV, the fourth generation of the shredder series, with a new, more energy-efficient drive and adjustable, multicut rotor design for easy knife changes. The upgraded shredders also feature an easy cutting gap adjustment, a new coupling concept, effective counter-knife cooling and a patented automatic belt tensioning system. Each of the shredders’ knife systems is suitable for different plastics applications: step knives arranged in a row, for films and rigid plastics; step knives offset with elevations, for plastic panels and lumps; and pointed knives in a row and offset, for films, fibers and woven plastics.

Benefits Flexibility, ease of use and maintenance, energy efficiency and quick changes between pointed and stepped knives. The new rotor combines flexibility in handling diverse material flows with low maintenance effort. Using screws and no welding, the knife-change process takes just about five hours; belt changes are also easy. Also, according to the company, the new motor is particularly durable, efficient and robust.
