Break Machinery launches mammoth constant-pressure screen changer
By Ron Shinn
Break Machinery Srl introduced the Duo 7000 screen changer at K 2025, describing it as the world’s largest constant-pressure screen changer.
It is suitable for all extrusion lines, including recycling lines processing heavily contaminated material, such as post-industrial scrap, and highly contaminated material, such as post-consumer scrap.
Break said the Duo 7000 has 1,089 square inches of filtration area, which is more than twice as much as any other constant pressure laser filter on the market. Filtration down to 60 microns is available.
The larger filtration area means higher output, fine filtration without raising working pressure and up to 50 percent cost savings, because users can consolidate operations into one Duo 7000 and reduce operator hours. Maintenance can also be reduced by consolidating multiple smaller machines to one Duo 7000 line.
The Duo 7000 is a double-screen system. Filter diameter is 710mm. It has seven heating zones. Maximum flow rate is up to 13.2 tons per hour.
The screw rotates independently of the six-blade scraper disc so waste can be minimized and disposal costs reduced.
The Duo 7000 is designed to operate in continuous mode and at constant pressure.
The control system allows the operator to set temperatures, operating mode and cleaning parameters. Parameters can be stored in the recipe book.
Break is represented in the North America by ADG Solutions.
