Nordson BKG’s new PolyNeo melt pump can support throughputs of up to 22 tons per hour.

The company said it features advanced heating technology that delivers better thermal control to reduce material waste and defects, as well as minimizing energy consumption and operational costs.

Ram Kumar Karnan, global segment manager for polymerization, said the PolyNeo is designed to reduce polymer shear. “This ensures smoother flow, improved material integrity and higher quality,” Karnan said.

The PolyNeo series is suitable for all standard polymers. It has a cooled water or air sealing system and optional gland packing system. The pump housing includes temperature and pressure sensor ports.

Lower melt temperatures are possible due to reduced shear in the material and more efficient pressure buildup. The oil flow channel design also contributes to more efficient melt temperatures.

Nordson said heat dissipation is improved by 10 percent over similar models.

Throughput ranges from 15.4 tons to 22 tons per hour. The temperature range goes up to 626 degrees Fahrenheit.
