The manufacturer of sorting machines is also opening or expanding its test facilities in Japan, the U.K. and Australia.

Pellenc ST has inaugurated its new U.S. test center in Pineville, N.C., replacing a smaller facility in Charlotte.

The facility offers two of Pellenc’s sorting machines for testing and study, along with one from its partner, Bühler, to carry out tests on plastic flakes.

“This building is also made available to packaging producers to validate the ‘sortability’ of materials in the real-life conditions of a sorting center. We support manufacturers in the development of test protocols while providing diagnostics and recommendations for improvement,” said Harry White, head of Pellenc ST's American subsidiary.

The company, based in Pertuis, France, said it is upgrading its test center in Japan, and establishing new ones in the U.K. and Australia.
