Cannon Viking debuts Purform, Purform Elite

Purform and Purform Elite Featuring a raft of technologies, including a chemical metering system, direct-drive mixer and an advanced chemical laydown system, these highly customizable Cannon Viking machines for PU foam slabstock production boast a modular design. They come with Cannon’s Omega 4.0 computer control platform, which offers real-time monitoring, intuitive graphical interfaces and closed-loop process control.  

What’s new? The machines, available since May. The Purform Elite is a high-pressure version that incorporates all the innovations of the Purform machine, while introducing enhanced capabilities for high-volume and technical production. It features advanced configurations for specialized and technical foam applications and an even more robust system for chemical metering and distribution. Meanwhile, Purform is a low-pressure machine that’s suited for first-time foam block producers. 

Benefits Improved block quality and maximized yield. Compared with other systems, the new chemical metering system ensures up to 3 percent improvement in chemical flow accuracy, according to Cannon Viking. It also ensures more-consistent formulations. The direct-drive mixer for Purform and Purform Elite eliminates the need for pulleys and belts, enhancing reliability and reducing maintenance needs, while supporting a broader range of mixing speeds for specialty foams. In addition, the chemical laydown system optimizes material distribution across the production line, reducing waste by up to 2 percent and improving foam consistency.
