Shini has added a smart and efficient control to its dryers.

SHD-E Boasting a maximum drying temperature of 320 degrees Fahrenheit, Shini’s standard hopper dryers are used for drying PS, PP, ABS and other hygroscopic plastics. The units, which feature stainless steel material-contact surfaces, come standard with a seven-day timer and intermittent operation function. Options for units include the abilities to recycle hot air or filter metal impurities. Floor-mounted versions are available.
What’s new? Availability with new dryers of an energy-efficient, intelligent control upgrade, known by the company as SEC or SEC-H. According to the company, the controls also can be installed on almost any of the hopper dryers after users simply remove the original controls. To achieve energy savings and prevent overdrying, the controls automatically regulate airflow and temperature according to actual throughput. With its heat insulation and anti-overdrying function, the control system can automatically reduce the drying temperature and airflow, or stop material throughput to prevent material from excessive drying. The control also shuts off the dryer if the drying temperature exceeds parameters.
Benefits Energy savings ranging from 30 percent to 80 percent, as well as the prevention of overdrying, leading to a reduction in product scrap.
