Flosense This mold cooling-channel monitoring device from Mouldpro ApS, Ballerup, Denmark, interfaces with the temperature control unit (TCU) and mold heater by controlling pump speed and temperature. In the U.S., it is available through Globeius.
What’s new? A software add-on to the latest iteration in the Flosense, Flosense 4.0. The add-on, called Flosense iQ, can send a signal to any brand of TCU equipped with the proper Euromap communication protocols to adjust the speed of the pump in the unit to optimize the cooling in the mold. The software calculates the demand for cooling water and passes this information on to the TCU, so the TCU can adjust pump speed and water use to the required demand, matching what’s needed to the flow in each channel, rather than increasing the overall flow within the entire manifold. This increases the capabilities of Flosense 4.0, which can individually monitor up to 48 zones per control panel. Flosense iQ can be retrofitted on existing mold setups. Other iterations in the line include Flosense 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0, which can monitor only one zone in a mold.
