Haas mill machines large, complex parts

Jan. 11, 2024
The HDC-3-5AX can handle parts weighing up to 10,000 pounds.

HDC-3-5AX Haas’ HDC-3-5AX is a five-axis double-column mill designed to machine large, complex parts. Its HSK-A100 dual-axis spindle head provides plus or minus 245 degrees of C-axis rotation and plus or minus 120 degrees of B-axis tilt. It also comes with a 50+1 side-mount tool changer, and the mill’s control pendant is on a moveable stand for easy access. The table’s surface has three blank tooling plates, which users can easily machine to accommodate custom fixturing.

What’s new? The HDC-3-5AX.

Benefits Rigid construction, long travel paths and heavy weight capacity. The HDC-3-5AX provides a very stable cutting platform, and its fully supported X-axis paths easily handle parts weighing up to 10,000 pounds. These attributes make it a solid choice for machining large mold cavities, layup molds for composites, heavy fixtures and large assemblies.
