Haas turret expands tooling capacity

April 27, 2023
The BMT45 doubles the available indexing stations, allowing for the use of up to 24 tools, with 12 stations able to accept driven tools.

BMT45 turret Haas has introduced an increased-capacity turret that can be used with its smaller lathes. The BMT45 offers 12 horsepower with speeds of up to 4,000 RPM, and allows users to perform secondary operations such as milling, drilling, flatting and tapping on the face of the part and around the diameter, thanks to its fully synchronized C-axis motion.

What’s new? The BMT45 turret, a scaled-down version of its popular BMT65.

Benefits Increased tooling capacity. The BMT45 doubles the available indexing stations, allowing for the use of up to 24 tools, with 12 stations able to accept driven tools. It also offers a more rigid connection of the tool holder to the turret, better clearance to the workpiece and greater overall versatility.  The BMT45 now is standard on Haas’ ST-10Y and ST-15Y turning centers.
