Measuring machine handles molds, parts
SF 87 Wenzel's new SF 87 coordinate measuring machine was created with the capacity to measure parts up to 31.5 inches by 27.6 inches by 27.6 inches. It is suited for measuring both molds and large plastic parts. Its cantilevered design makes it possible to measure portions of large parts that might not fit in traditional CMMs.
What's new? The ratio of the measuring volume to the machine's footprint. The SF 87's footprint is as little as a quarter of that of some CMMs with a similar measuring volume. The company expects to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2019.
Benefits Flexibility and good price-to-performance ratio. Also, due to its small footprint and dirt-resistant shielding, the CMM is optimized for use on the factory floor.
