Reversible Boom Crane This series of counterbalance, or reverse-style, mobile floor cranes is the most popular and versatile offered by Air Technical Industries (ATI). The reverse-base, floor-operated cranes are designed to provide unrestricted front access, so operators can reach under, over or through obstacles without interference. With available capacities ranging from 1,000 pounds to 20,000 pounds, the cranes — which have an extended reach of up to 14 feet — can lift everything from machine components to large assemblies. They are appropriate for manufacturing and maintenance facilities.
What’s new? A new fully electro-mechanical knuckle boom crane version, which, unlike ATI’s other cranes, does not require hydraulic fluids. Models are available with capacities from 1,000 pounds to 20,000 pounds.
Benefits The replacement of traditional hydraulic cylinders with heavy-duty machine-screw actuators, making the knuckle boom appropriate for manufacturing facilities that have high sanitary standards, such as plants engaged in food, aerospace or medical applications. Also, the new crane’s articulating boom functions include a knuckle joint and powered extension, providing a wider range of motion than hydraulic cranes. The new crane’s lifting capacity is not diminished by boom angle.
