Wabash MPI presses available in larger sizes

Presses Wabash MPI makes custom hydraulic and pneumatic presses for use by rubber and plastics processors to make parts for the aerospace, medical, recreation, automotive and energy industries. The company also supplies custom presses that can be used for testing, R&D and other applications. Wabash MPI’s portfolio includes compression presses, transfer molding presses and vacuum compression presses. 

What’s new? Availability of larger custom presses specifically for composites manufacturing, with clamping forces up to 2,500 tons, platen sizes up to 10 feet by 10 feet and operating temperatures up to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit.  

Benefits The ability to make large components for the aerospace, automotive, defense and other industries. In particular, the newly available presses can make lightweight thermoset and thermoplastic parts for applications that require structural integrity and precision geometry. Such parts can include interior structures for commercial aircraft, structural and cosmetic components for the automotive industry and components for ground-based defense vehicles and airframes.
