Taveras named Equipment and Moldmakers Council Director

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has appointed Whitney Taveras director of the Equipment and Moldmakers Council.
She will manage the activities of the council that represents PLASTICS’ largest constituent group: companies that manufacture and otherwise deal in plastics machinery and molds.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to bring the perspective I’ve developed to this new role, especially in terms of member engagement and representing the interests of our Equipment Council members,” Taveras said in a statement. “They are passionate about this industry, and so am I.”
Taveras is the daughter of the late Bill Carteaux, longtime CEO of PLASTICS and member of the Plastics Hall of Fame.
“I keep my father’s Hall of Fame award on my desk, and think of him every day,” she said. “I can never hope to fill his shoes, but I do see this new role as an opportunity to continue his legacy of dedication to our industry and support for our members. I hope he’s proud of me.”
Taveras joined PLASTICS in 2015 as staff accountant and has served as senior accountant, manager of financial planning and analysis, and director of financial planning and analysis.
