VR-90 BinMaster’s latest vibrating-rod sensor detects the level of granular or coarse-grained bulk solids, including plastics, in bins, tanks, silos and hoppers. The VR-90 is used to prevent overfilling, to keep downstream equipment from running without material and to detect the level of sediment in a liquid. The rod is energized by a piezo drive to vibrate at a set resonance frequency. When material covers the device’s round, stainless-steel rod, its amplitude is dampened; electronics detect the change to alert users to a full or empty container. The sensor works in applications subject to strong external vibration and is suited for bins that experience frequent material changes.

What’s new? The VR-90, the latest sensor in BinMaster’s vibrating-rod product line.

Benefits Ease of use. The sensor is simple to set up, doesn’t require calibration and resists buildup, keeping maintenance to a minimum. The rugged device also is appropriate for use in hazardous locations.
