Wittmann touts integration at K show
With the K show less than a month away, machinery builders are jockeying for a place on your list of must-sees.
Along with new equipment, Wittmann Battenfeld is touting a machine cell producing a decorated structural component made by one of its vertical VPower injection molding machines, along with some of its auxiliary equipment.
The high-speed VPower 160/525 R 160 will be outfitted with a servo-electric rotary table equipped with a two-bar portal clamping unit with two external traveling cylinders for fast opening and closing, offering optimal accessibility, minimal rotation times and precise positioning.
With the cell, a Wittmann robot will pick up a natural fiber mat, combined in advance with a decorative foil, from a feeding station, and insert it into a machine, so it can be over-molded with a contour. Then, the robot will remove the part, reorient it and present it to a printer that will apply a QR code. A camera will inspect the part.
According to Wittmann, all the equipment at its booth will be supplied via a central materials-handling system and regulated via a central materials-control system.
The K show opens Oct. 8 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
