Wear-resistant coating supplier Extreme Coatings is rebranding its CarbideX series of coatings for injection molding and extrusion feedscrews.

The rebranding by the St. Petersburg, Fla., company introduces Wearpro (formerly C1000) for equipment processing glass, metal and other abrasive fillers for automotive and electronic applications; and Micropro (formerly C9000) for calcium carbonate, silica or other sub-micron-particle-filled resins for bottles, housewares and sporting goods.

Coropro coatings (formerly C4000) are for screws processing PVC, chlorinated PVC and halogen-free polymers for pipe and electronic devices, while its new Medpro coatings target medical-grade polymers for parts such as plungers and syringe barrels.

The former Fliteguard C1000, which is used for all extrusion applications, is now known as Extrupro, and Extrupro+ targets filled resins.
