The newest version of Kuka's digital simulation software package has a digital twin that lets users plan the space requirements for a robot cell before the equipment arrives.

The company’s digital simulation software package helps users — especially component suppliers — plan for robot applications in industries from consumer goods to electronics and automotive. The software’s digital twin allows them to plan the space requirements for a robot cell before the equipment arrives, to test its operation for safety, and to program the robot.

What’s new? The latest version of Kuka.Sim, which debuted in September. The new version includes updates such as offline programming and modular add-ons. This version supports Kuka’s new KR SCARA and KR Delta robots.

Benefits Simplified robot programming. Kuka.Sim 4.0 includes the new Kuka Robot Language editor, which can be used by experts and beginners alike, and has a visual program tree and drag-and-drop smart components. Its modular add-ons let users expand Kuka.Sim 4.0 only as much as they need — such as the Connectivity add-on, which allows robot cells to be commissioned virtually.
