LS Mtron rolls out new two-component series

The WIZ-EC series of all-electric injection molding machines can produce two-component parts, or be used to manufacture parts more efficiently than conventional machines.

WIZ LS Mtron’s WIZ family of injection molding machines includes all of the company’s two-shot presses for multi-component molding.

What’s new? The WIZ-EC series of all-electric injection molding machines, which can handle two different resins or colors simultaneously or sequentially. Machines in the series have clamping forces of 165, 220 and 440 tons. In addition to the WIZ-EC series, the family of machines includes a number of other series with two injection units. They include the WiZ-EV machines, which have a vertically oriented second injection unit; the WIZ-EP and WIZ-EPR machines, which have an electric piggyback configuration or rotary platen; and the WIZ-EL machines, which have a second unit arranged in an L-shape configuration.

Benefits Production of high-quality parts, and precise control. Double-shot machines can reduce cycle times, compared with conventional molding. To make the process even more efficient, LS Mtron can work with customers and automation companies to speed part removal and downstream processing. The WIZ-EC machines are designed so that the stopper — the device used to stop the rotating platen in the proper position  — is easy to access and replace; for easier attachment of the molds, magnetic clamping is available as an option.
