Maguire acquires interest in O.A. Newton

Maguire Products Inc. has purchased a minority share in Bridgeville, Del.-based manufacturer O.A. Newton, which supplies bulk material handling systems to companies making wood-plastic composites, flexible and rigid PVC and carbon black.

While the companies will continue to operate independently, both see new opportunities stemming from the deal. Aston, Pa.-based Maguire, which supplies auxiliary equipment to plastics processors, expects the deal to help it serve new markets outside its current product line, while O.A. Newton expects its customer base grow through its affiliation with Maguire’s global sales organization.

Maguire owner and President Steve Maguire said, “We can now refer inquiries for bulk material handling directly to O.A. Newton and can work together with them as projects require.”

O.A. Newton President and CEO Rob Rider Jr. said, “The synergies between all the companies will have a compounding effect on all of us.”
