Engel’s duo speed line of large-scale IMMs has been adapted on both the clamping and injection unit sides for the requirements of those products.

Duo speed Engel’s duo speed line of large-scale injection molding machines is targeted at manufacturers of storage and transport containers and buckets. Based on the company’s duo platform, it has been specifically adapted on both the clamping and injection unit sides for the requirements of those products. The presses are available with clamping forces ranging from 562 tons to 1,237 tons. A barrier screw and sliding ring non-return valve optimized for PP and HDPE are standard.

What’s new? The duo speed line, which has higher clamping forces and faster speeds than the original duo machines. Dry cycle times range from 2.35 to 3.4 seconds. Additionally, the machines feature the company’s energy-saving ecodrive servo-hydraulics and an electric-motor-driven screw drive.

Benefits Productivity and efficiency. Engel touts its duo speed machines as the fastest dual-platen models on the market. The compact presses are shorter than comparable machines for this application, saving valuable floorspace. Also, its optimized accumulators facilitate fast injection speeds.
