Software update improves picking and loading

Jan. 21, 2021
Pick-it's upgrade simplifies teaching and speeds picking of symmetrical parts like billets, pipes, shafts and rings.

Pick-it software Belgium-based Pick-it’s vision systems work with robots from a wide range of manufacturers, including Universal Robots, ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc and Stäubli. Its systems improve robots’ capabilities, including bin picking and machine loading.

What’s new? Release 2.4. This new version improves picking of axisymmetric objects, such as billets, pipes, shafts and rings. The Teach engine now can model cylinders, so users only need to specify a length and a diameter, while earlier versions required placing the part under a camera or uploading a CAD file.

Benefits Increased speed. Using the software’s cylinder models optimizes picking functions, increasing speed and accuracy of the picks. Users can also specify the symmetry axis of parts like pipes and rings, and the Pick-it software can improve picking of those parts. The update is available free to all customers running any version from 2.0 to more recent.
