Haitian International Holdings Ltd. announced that Helmar Franz has resigned his position as a member of the board of directors. Franz first joined the company in 2005 as its executive VP of strategic business development and has served on the board as chief strategy officer and most recently as non-executive director.
In a statement, the company said Franz’s departure from the board was part of an intentional effort to reduce its size, “in order to be able to operate more efficiently.” A 2019 list of the company’s directors named 15 members, while the most recent list on the company’s website shows 11 members. Franz will continue to serve Haitian in a new role as chairman of the Strategy Development Committee.
The company acknowledged Franz’s 48 years of experience and called him a respected figure in the plastics industry. Haitian International CEO Zhang Jianming said Franz “… has played a key role in the strategic development of our company and is one of the major contributors to our success today. On behalf of the entire Board of Haitian International, I would like to thank him most sincerely for his dedication.”
