Hillenbrand Inc., the Batesville, Ind., owner of Milacron, reported $649 million of revenue for the second quarter of this year, a 40 percent increase over last year. Meanwhile, Milacron saw revenue of $199 million, a 20 percent decrease from the previous year. The earnings report pointed to the COVID-19 pandemic as having an impact on demand. Orders for injection molding machines and extrusion equipment slowed in March and continued to decline in April. Hot-runner systems, however, saw order rates in March and April improve compared to January and February, coinciding with increased demand for medical and pharmaceutical projects.
