Chroma Color Corp., a specialty color and additive concentrate supplier that this spring acquired Plastics Color Corp. and its two facilities in Asheboro, N.C., and Calumet City, Ill., announced it will close the Calumet City plant. Chroma Color said the move will optimize its manufacturing footprint. The company said it has spent $1.5 million to upgrade its other sites and Calumet City’s production is being transferred to its other facilities, which are in McHenry, Ill.; Leominster, Mass.; Delaware, Ohio; and Asheboro. Thirty jobs will be eliminated, but those employees will be able to apply for jobs at the other sites.
