Chinaplas 2020 canceled due to coronavirus

April 24, 2020
The plastics and rubber trade fair had been initially been rescheduled for August, but will now return in April 2021.

The Chinaplas trade show has been canceled for this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The next show is now scheduled for April 13-16, 2021, in Shenzhen.

The organizer, Hong Kong-based Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., cited instructions from the Chinese government on containing the virus, which state that all exhibitions should be stopped for the time being. This year's show, which was initially scheduled for mid-April in Shanghai, had been postponed to August.

"The virus is now largely under control in China, but poses a high degree of uncertainty globally," Adsale said in a statement. "China has now a formidable task of fighting against local rebound infections while preventing the next wave of outbreak from imported cases."

Last year's show in Guangzhou drew 3,622 exhibitors and 163,314 visitors, and when the show was last held in Shanghai in 2018 it drew 3,964 exhibitors and 180,701 visitors.
