Inspection system uses laser, sensors

DWFritz sees its new ZeroTouch inspection system as a possible replacement for traditional coordinate- measuring machines.
ZeroTouch DWFritz sees this new inspection system as a possible replacement for traditional coordinate- measuring machines (CMMs). It uses a combination of laser and confocal sensors, as well as multispectral lighting and high-resolution cameras to measure high-precision parts such as electrical connectors, O-rings and translucent or transparent parts like headlight covers.

What’s new? The ZeroTouch, which is now available for order.

Benefits Speed. The ZeroTouch can perform inspections about three times to 10 times more quickly than a traditional CMM. It can provide multiple measurements in one system, combining defect detection with metrology, surface roughness and finish inspection. Setup and operation are simple.
