Double-bladed mixers from Charles Ross & Son handle thick material

Double-planetary mixers Charles Ross’ double-planetary mixers feature two identical blades that rotate on their own axes as they orbit a common axis. The pair of blades passes through the entire batch after making only 36 revolutions. The mixers can handle thick, sticky or putty-like materials; when mixing products with viscosities of 2 million centipoise (cP), the blades impart a kneading action. Standard versions of the mixers have rectangular stirrers and an air/oil hydraulic lift.

What’s new? A customized, stainless-steel, 150-gallon model called DPM-150 that was manufactured recently and features patented high-

viscosity blades, interchangeable jacketed vessels, an electrohydraulic lift and recipe controls tailored to the user’s needs.

Benefits Suitability for mixing materials with very high viscosities. The customized version can handle viscosities of up to 6 million cP.
