Calypso press handles range of materials

AX Developed over the course of three years, this new injection molding machine series from Calypso Machinery is appropriate for a wide range of applications and materials, including PET and PVC. The servo-driven, hydraulic line includes 13 models with clamping forces ranging from 101 tons to 1,214 tons; a plethora of screw diameters is offered for each model. The AX155, with a clamping force of 157 tons, is shown. Machines with clamping forces up to 535 tons are available from stock; customized machines can be built to order in eight to 10 weeks.

What’s new? The line. Made especially for manufacturers in the U.S. and Mexico, units in the AX series are assembled in Ningbo, China, with parts sourced from around the world.

Benefits Efficient, stable and fast production. Designed with a strong mechanical structure, the machines are built to last. The machines’ five-piece crankshaft mechanisms provide rigid, repeatable movements, while their clamping system reduces platen deformation. Also, compared with hydraulic machines, the hybrid machines use about half as much energy and need significantly less water for cooling.
