KraussMaffei modular 2-platen GX gains multiple options

Nov. 26, 2014

GX Series   KraussMaffei launched new configurations of this hydro-mechanical two-platen GX line of modular injection presses at Fakuma.  GX Series clamp forces range from 440 to 990 tons.

What's New?  Three new GX configurations for multi-shot or multi-component molding.  The GXH model (pictured right) allows two or more injection units to be arranged in parallel. On the GXL, the additional injection unit is positioned laterally. On the GXV, the second injection unit is vertically positioned in relation to the main injection device.  The GX presses feature an optional, integrated servo-electric turntable for fast rotation, parallel movement and precise position during molding.

Benefits  The space-saving GXH offers good melt flow and permits simplified mold design for products such as technical and optical vehicle components and two-part screw caps for packaging. The modular GXL can handle both small and large shots. The vertical injection unit of the GXV can be moved from the clamping area for easy mold access. The GX Series' modular clamp, injection unit and drive system offers configuration flexibility in molding rigid-flexible parts or color soft-touch surfaces with up to four different components or colors across a range of applications.
