PLASTICS offers coronavirus resource page

March 26, 2020

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has launched a page of resource materials to help the industry meet the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

"The nearly one million employees of the plastics industry are working tirelessly to provide the material that is needed at the frontlines. From medical supplies to food packaging, plastics are essential in the effort to stop the spread of this virus," the association said. "Plastics will only become more and more vital to help keep our families healthy, our food fresh and protected, and our healthcare workers safe."

Resources include:

  • Contacts for companies that want to offer help in manufacturing or donating supplies.
  • Links to federal and state information on sick leave, labor policy and regulations.
  • Sample letters for having your business declared "essential" and toolkits for continuing to operate in case of a shelter-in-place order.
  • A webinar on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and employment law.
  • Updates from PLASTICS chief economist Perc Pineda.
