Extrex⁶ EC Maag developed this gear pump for processing rigid PVC in collaboration with the Rehau Group. The material is difficult to convey due to extreme thermal sensitivity and its tendency to degrade and to collect in gaps and dead spaces. The extrex⁶ EC has a gap-free design that prevents polymers from adhering and accumulating inside the pump, reducing thermal stress and degradation. Uniform, pressure-stable conveying reduces the load on the extruder. Depending on the application, material throughput can be significantly increased, or energy savings of up to 20 percent can be achieved while maintaining constant throughput. Optimized temperature control reduces process temperature, eliminating the need for stabilizers in some cases.
