Davis-Standard revamps customer services, R&D
Davis-Standard says it is conducting a “comprehensive business transformation” centered around the customer experience.
“We understand our customers’ pain points, and we’re committed to solving them,” Davis-Standard President Juan Araujo said. “Every decision, every process and every change happening within the company is driven by our clear purpose of serving our customers faster and more efficiently.”
In its equipment manufacturing, the company has developed an integrated digital system that synchronizes workflows, provides digital work instructions, manages materials and offers engineering support. Fully integrated systems simplify processes, allowing for faster deliveries, improved quality and more dependable service.
A new Customer Response Center (CRC) manages each customer’s request through a digitally integrated solution and tracks cases through real-time dashboards, lending transparency throughout the process.
“When a customer needs us, we want them to experience a world-class service and support. Customers will see that we are dependable and efficient in solving their problems,” Araujo said. “We expect 100 percent of calls to be answered promptly and 100 percent of issues to be resolved."
Davis-Standard is also making upgrades to its Extrusion Center of Excellence to enable faster trials and the ability to test advanced materials such as biopolymers and recycled plastics. Trials are already being scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
“We’ve reinvested more than $5 million in equipment that harnesses next-generation extrusion and automation to increase efficiency, reliability, speed and safety. Our goal is to accelerate sustainable innovation through advanced R&D, smart monitoring and customer-focused trials,” Araujo said.
Davis-Standard Corp., headquartered in Chicago, is majority-owned by funds affiliated with Gamut Capital Management. The company manufactures extrusion equipment and converting systems for a variety of end markets. Its brands include Davis-Standard, Maillefer, Battenfeld-Cincinnati and Exelliq.
