Visco-P Through an integral static mixing device that can be retrofitted to extruders, this Promix viscometer operates within the real-time flow of the extruder to measure viscosity, shear rate and melt temperature. Additionally, it provides measurements for solution viscosity and melt mass-flow rate — data of particular importance to PET and polyolefins processors.
What’s new? A trend reporting page, in addition to the option to export data via USB or directly to an external control unit via bus interface. Minimum, maximum and average viscosity values, as well as standard deviations and process capability characteristic values can be calculated and saved as trend diagrams that can show either current or past measurements. The Visco-P immediately generates a report for each batch that’s produced, and this data can be collated with other data collected during the batch’s production for tracking purposes.
Benefits The ability to document both current and past viscosities. Overall, the rheometer helps users prevent scrap and reduce raw material costs; it is especially useful in processes that involve a great deal of variability, such as when running regrind. Additionally, the system’s mixer homogenizes the melt stream.
