Coperion upgrades ZSK extruders with next-generation user interface

June 30, 2021
The redesigned graphical user interface lets operators easily and precisely control the extruder’s functions via high-contrast icons.

ZSK Coperion’s ZSK line of twin-screw extruders come in a range of sizes and models to accommodate a wide variety of plastics compounding and extrusion applications.

What’s new? A redesigned graphical user interface (GUI). Coperion interviewed machine operators, observed machines in operation and analyzed production conditions before revamping the ZSK’s CSpro control with a uniform look and feel throughout all user levels. Operators now can access web-based help when questions arise. The GUI displays the extruder start-up sequence step by step. New dashboard widgets show the extruder’s most important operating conditions at a glance, and torque and throughput can be regulated intuitively using ergonomically positioned slider controls. The control automatically adapts to the screen size of any device, so that the GUI can be used on various devices, such as tablets. Existing ZSK extruders can be retrofitted with the new control.

Benefits Simplified and intuitive operation. Operators can easily and precisely control the extruder’s functions using high-contrast icons, reducing the risk of operator error, which improves efficiency.
