What’s new? The AutoGrip power clamp with electro-mechanical actuation. The clamp is appropriate for extrusion systems that require frequent screw, breaker plate or downstream tooling changes. Available with new American Kuhne extruders, it also can be retrofitted to existing equipment, including competitors’ machines. The clamp is remotely operated via a two-hand, push-button controller.
Benefits Operator safety and efficiency. The AutoGrip power clamp reduces the risks of injury and burns that are associated with manually releasing and tightening clamps during changeovers. The drive motor and gearbox are mounted above the clamp, protecting them from the melt and making them easy to access for maintenance. Additionally, the clamp makes changeovers faster, with repeatable clamping forces and no overtightening.
