Designed for the manufacture of micro-drip irrigation tubes with flat, heavy walls, Maillefer's new three-layer crosshead series manages polymer flow at a right angle to an extruder.

ECH 36/55 Designed for the manufacture of micro-drip irrigation tubes with flat, heavy walls, Maillefer's new three-layer crosshead series manages polymer flow at a right angle to an extruder. The pipe extrusion model weighs about 265 pounds and has a maximum entry diameter of 26mm and maximum die diameter of 55mm.

What's new? The ability to color and stripe the outer layer of a pipe with the crosshead, which debuted at the K show. The capability allows users to mark products to differentiate among them, and provides end users, such as farmers, with a way to match the pipe to its correct application.

Benefits Flexibility. With the crosshead, users can produce thick-walled, three-layer pipe, using recycled resin in the middle layer to save money. They can also mark pipe to make it more useful for their customers.
