Coperion upgrades EGR pelletizer for Kombiplast system
EGR Coperion has designed this eccentric pelletizer for seamless integration with its two-stage Kombiplast compounding system for working with temperature- and shear-sensitive plastics, such as soft PVC, hard PVC, halogen-free flame retardants (HFFRs), cable and special compounds. Equipped with volumetric feeders and vacuum degassing along with the pelletizer, the Kombiplast system combines a twin-screw extruder with a single-screw discharge screw.
What’s new? Enhancements to the EGR, including a redesigned air-supply system, optimized conveying, a redesigned hood and new drive placement, as well as the addition of new smart features.
Benefits Higher efficiency, improved pellet quality, improved accessibility to the pelletizer knife blades and easier operation. With the combination of a ZSK twin-screw extruder with an ES-A discharge system, the EGR-Kombiplast setup ensures gentle, efficient high-throughput compounding. Compared with earlier versions of the EGR, the latest iteration needs up to 75 percent less energy.
