Platinum Equity has signed an agreement to acquire Husky IMS International Ltd., a maker of injection molding equipment based in Bolton, Ontario. The Beverly Hills, Calif., investment firm has agreed to pay $3.85 billion to Toronto-based OMERS Private Equity and Berkshire Partners, which is headquartered in Boston.

The transaction is expected to be finalized during the second quarter of this year.
