KraussMaffei unveils smaller BluePower

This twin-screw extruder is designed for compounding and is suited for small batches and rapid formulation changes.

ZE 42 BluePower This twin-screw extruder from KraussMaffei Berstorff is designed for compounding and is suited for small batches and rapid formulation changes. With a range of modular barrel sections and different screw elements, it has a wide variety of configuration options, allowing the process section to be tailored to specific applications in the compounding of engineering resins, polyolefins, PVC and masterbatches. It is ideal for throughputs between 550 and 1,200 pounds per hour.

What's new? The size, which was unveiled at the K show. With a screw diameter of 42mm, the new model is the smallest in a line that also has extruders with screw diameters of 52mm, 65mm and 80mm.

Benefits Productivity and energy efficiency. The machine has an increased ratio of outer diameter to inner diameter for 30 percent higher torque. This yields a high output with lower energy consumption, compared with previous KraussMaffei extruders.
