Fanuc undertakes major operations expansion

Industrial automation firm Fanuc America Corp., Rochester Hills, Mich., is undergoing a massive expansion that is scheduled for completion by July.

The project includes a new manufacturing and distribution center in Pontiac, Mich.; new sales and service facilities in Seattle, as well as in Monterrey, Mexico, and Manaus, Brazil; relocation of customer service offices from Dallas to Houston, and from Mexico City to Queretaro, Mexico; and enhancement of training centers at existing offices in San Francisco, Chicago and Charlotte, N.C. The company's goal is to be close to its customers.
